Dennis Altman (Death in the Sauna), Toni Jordan (Prettier if She Smiled More) and Megan Rogers (The Heart is a Star) chat about their new books. Chaired by Suzanne Donisthorpe.

The son of Jewish refugees, Dennis Altman first received attention with his book Homosexual: Oppression and Liberation in 1972. He's written more than a dozen since, culminating in Death in the Sauna. He is Vice Chancellor’s Fellow at LaTrobe University and Patron of the Australian Queer Archives and the Pride Foundation.

Toni Jordan has been a molecular biologist, quality control chemist, TAB operator and door-to-door aluminium siding salesperson. She's written seven novels including Addition, which was longlisted for the Miles Franklin Award, Nine Days, which was awarded Best Fiction at the 2012 Indie Awards and her latest novel Prettier If She Smiled More.

Megan Rogers started as an editorial assistant in publishing before eventually heading up marketing at the SLV. Her debut novel, The Heart is a Star was a bestseller. Her next,The Anatomy of Tears is due in 2025. Megan lives on the Mornington Peninsula with her husband and two young girls.

Suzanne Donisthorpe worked at ABC RN for 23 years as a producer/reporter on every incarnation of the books and arts shows. Since 2016 she's been presenting shows on Castlemaine's MAINfm. She also works as an arts producer/curator and is the author of, Getting Up under her nom de plume, SD Thorpe.
